I'm going to write a book called Treasure Island with Three Exclamation Marks about a boy who reads [b:Treasure Island!!!|12358020|Treasure Island!!!|Sara Levine|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1317495168s/12358020.jpg|17337884] about a girl who reads [b:Treasure Island|295|Treasure Island|Robert Louis Stevenson|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1312023209s/295.jpg|3077988]. The boy is me and I remain unchanged throughout the entire reading. I read the book in a week and in the course of that week I eat some food and watch Season 5 of 30 Rock. I quote various passages from the book, but I forget which book they are from. At the end of the book I Google Sara Levine and I look at her pictures and I can't tell if she is old or young, and it somehow matters. I have an epiphany of sorts and everything ties together poignantly. You will weep when you read my book. You will also alternately burst out in fits of laughter.
Oh, good gravy. DNF. This one felt like a wacky cousin to Convenience Store Woman, if the main character were Shiraha. The narrator was a woman in her 20s who refused to act with integrity or empathy. She describes living by the principles of the characters and themes in the children’s book Treasure Island, but has zero care for actually doing anything. An unbearable protagonist in a book that carries on with its satiric gimmick too long. A fair performance by voice narrator Emily Durante. Not recommended.

I really didn’t like this book. I felt there was a lot of context missing from the protagonist’s journey, which made it hard to relate to or empathise with her. This could have been just me - i just hate when people are uncaring towards animals and there’s quite a bit of that in the book.
Moderate: Animal cruelty, Animal death
This book was crazy and hilarious. It was also quite short, which is probably for the best since I don't know how much more of the protagonist I could have taken.

I enjoyed this book. The bit about driving is pretty relevant to my own feelings. Would I want the main character in my life? Not particularly. But it was an enjoyable quick read.
A silly, rather sick book. Would pair nicely with the comics of [a:Julia Wertz|939900|Julia Wertz|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1313443529p2/939900.jpg].
Deliciously funny novel that follows the musings of a myopic, self-satisfied narrator who sees everyone's shortcomings except her own. A Confederacy of Dunces meets Diablo Cody's Young Adult.
