This was my first Junji Ito read (been meaning to watch Uzumaki for ages but been too scared - stoked to realize he wrote it & I can read it first) and I really enjoyed it!
His drawings are fantastic - I never was confused by who was who or what something was, and loved how much expression he captured in the character’s faces.
I’ve also never been this grossed out and horrified by ink and paper drawings; I'm both impressed, & feeling unwell : /
I loved the titular first story & it set my expectations high for the rest of the book. I kept reading hoping for another story that gave me those same feels, and most were great!
Interesting, informative about Japanese culture, & really gave me a feeling of unease.
Strong recommend for horror fans!

I gotta be honest, this collection pretty much sucked ass. Stories felt extremely rushed and unfinished. The art was great as always but the writing was unforgivably sloppy.
Do not recommend.
