Enjoyed this story about a black-ops team, made up of specialists from various countries. There are a couple of parallel stories and characters: the team and its creation/development; an ex KGB spy; one of the richest men in America; and the various people at play in the hallways of American politics and espionage.
All the stories come together in one final terrorist plan to destroy the world.
Although enjoyable, I also found it was a bit long (for me). It wasn't long-winded or anything, but eventually, I got a bit tired of the topic and without any "mystery" or "secrets" to keep me curious, I was relieved to finally finish it.

I know it’s not Nobel Prize literature and I’m aware of it even when reading the book. Still a great read.
What can you say about such a fantastic story. Environmentalist wackos decide to wipe out the population of the earth, except for a small chosen few. Rainbow is a counter-terrorist group lead by John Clark, the famous agent from most of the Clancy books. Worth the time for anyone to read. Highly recommend to anyone.
Clancy's later books are...entirely predictable. I mean, it's not like the ending of "Hunt for Red October" came as a mind-blowing surprise or anything, but in "Rainbow Six" and "The Bear and the Dragon", especially, it seems that he relies on the repetition of phrases/ideas in order to get a high page count.
The constant political proselytizing also got old. Yes, we understand: people who care about the environment are deluded murdering psychopaths; drilling for oil is Alaska is the most patriotic and awesome thing ever; the military is full of people who have PhD's from elite universities. Give it a rest.
