The ending was a bit abrupt, but I liked that it was open to interpretation, and depends on our personal biases.

Quick notes I took while reading the book:
A quick read and engaging book. The theme of anger struck me as the most interesting part. The story angered me by the end and I found myself feeling like the angry character in the book. The struggle with identity fascinates me. I found myself asking "does he belong in NYC? Lahore? Do these places really define him?"
It's a reflection of elite America: the wealthy racist and entitled America. Not a good in-depth reflection of Americans.
Very one sided conversation like with most people who are quick to judge Americans instead of getting to know them.
He has an ability to pass judgment on a nation easily but not reluctant to impersonate a lover for his selfish sexual desires.
