I can't say how much i can relate to this book. I have never read a book that accurately defined how my life is going on at a particular moment. At first I was not that excited to read the book per se, but seeing that it's a Mitch Albom i decided to give it a try.
And it never failed to touch me. The main character brought the anger, the frustration, the pity, and all those strong emotions out of me, emotions I usually get... but not because of myself. I had tons of realizations after reading this book; that some things just really happen even if you think they just happen in movies.
I love the character of the Posey the most. Being a mother like her; it's my dream. Why can't all mothers have a touch of Posey? As the main character explicitly mentions, she did not deserve those things. I mean she was a pity, but she was noble at the same time. And pulling that off on a 'mother' character was really good.
There is a fiction side to it (although I forgot to check, was it really fiction? Or were there really papers of the main character's existence? Will check on this later). But nevertheless the author made it so believable: a story of trust and mistrust, making wrong decisions, seeing with the wrong eye, and most important of all, lamentation.
On the technical side, I like the interweaving of the stories of the book. It's Mitch Albom style definitely, and he's really good at it. It made the novel very dynamic and it made it hard to put the book down.
This is a definite must-read if you're a family person, or want to be one in the future. It is worth the time, plus the book won't take that long. Worth the money, as an Albom is always.

I enjoyed the story though it felt very slow but it was nice to see things unravel. I never felt more with this book which is ofd but a good thing.

3.5/5. I think I spent too long waiting for the emotional gut punch and then when it never came I was somewhat disappointed. The story was nice and had some sad and heartwarming moments, but there wasn't a moment that made me audibly gasp or anything. It felt maybe a bit hokey. But a quick and easy read, so no major complaints.

This one is amazing. Finished it in 4 hours (because I was straight-reading it). I loved how Mitch used his own imagination. Ghosts and all...

This was a very moving story–I can’t find adequate words but in the end forgiveness can set us free.
