I loved this book! If I could give it a 10/5 I would!!! It was a sad one, written really well! Finished this one quick!

Some of the material in this book is very personal to me, so maybe that's why I had such a strong reaction to it. I found myself crying every few pages, the way it handles difficult family relationships felt so real and raw to me. It didn't try to sugar coat things or put a positive lens to ugly situations. Sometimes people can be ugly, family can be ugly, and that's okay. My main take from this book, is that after reading it, i want to hug my family a little tighter.

“Behind all your stories is always your mother’s story, because hers is where yours begins.” :,)
Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing incredible, but sweet nonetheless. I appreciate how close to the real life events this narration is. Mitch Albom writes a respectful book on the suicide attempt of Chick Benetto and how he came back from it. Whether or not the story is “interesting” enough is not for me to say as it is meant to tackle simplicity and its value in life. Compared to other Albom books, For One More Day does not live up to the quality of its predecessors- I’d be lying if I said I didn’t shed a tear or two though. Rather than a deep dive into the effects of suicide on a spiritual level this story is simple, it makes us think about the people in our lives who deserve our time because they have given us theirs.
I’m gonna call my mom and tell her I love her.
