The content of this book was so fascinating and I agree strongly with the author’s philosophy, but I felt this collection of essays suffered from a lack of editing. Many of the essays were too long and repetitive, and others could have been combined. I’d say it’s worth reading to learn from, but it does not feel like a finished piece.

Many of the injustices against Native Americans are described in this book. It does have a hopeful tone despite some dark subject matter. One essay depicts the legend of the Wendigo, which involves non-graphic depictions of cannibalism.erica_palmisano's review against another edition

So rich, so beautifully written, so full of challenging but graciously articulated ideas. The audiobook is narrated by the author, whose warm tone and style is delightful, and I'm so glad I heard it. I think I'll get the physical book for future reference since I used my library card for this. There's just too much to think about to hear it only once.

Each chapter held so much good information that I read it slowly and let it all sink in. Loved the combination of science and indigious knowledge.

I thought this book was beautiful, important, and informative. I gained a lot from reading it. That being said, I didn't agree with 100% of the arguments put forward, and I also felt that the book could have been shorter.
