This book is a must read for all who are in the process of decolonizing. If you pay close attention, you will learn how to think and live in a way that is more attuned to the land, our kin (human and non), and with the ancestors.

idk, it was written beautifully and there were parts I genuinely really liked about this book and I really would recommend it to most people. There were just a few things that bothered me personally too much related too closely to my personal worldview that I made me dislike the book. Basically what I'm saying is chances are you won't have the same issues with this book I do. and you absolutely should read it.

This was such an informative and peaceful read, with some historical context in some areas. Because of the pacing, I do think you need to be in the right mood for it if you are unaccustomed to nonfiction.

While the writing is so beautiful, themes become quite repetitive about halfway through the book.

4.5 stars rounded up, half a star off because I was craving a little more of each way she broke down the book: scientific knowledge, indigenous wisdom, and her own story.
