I know I read this years and years ago because I remembered Mouse the dog, but I remembered nothing else. Seriously, nothing. Which probably makes the reread more entertaining as it all seems new to me and I didn't recall any of the plot points. Murphy's still my favourite, though.

It's an interesting twist having the vampires of this particular volume involved in the porn industry, but when you're feeding off sex instead of blood that's probably a reasonable occupation. What I do like about this series - and what I tend to prefer in other urban fantasies (I'm also reading the Mercy Thompson books at the moment) - is the political interactions between the various different species and types of supernatural. Having three different communities of vampires, for instance, means different types of vampire to explore and separate, often competing, motivations for the lot of them. It leaves me with the sense that there's a broad community that's more than just a backdrop to the main action. Of course, the fact that most of them seem to hate Harry is entertaining in itself. Half the time it seems the only thing the characters in these books have in common!

This one mixes humor with heartbreak. Between puppies, film-set chaos, and vampire family drama, it balances comedy and darkness really well. It also digs a little deeper into Harry’s personal world, making the stakes feel closer to home.

This used to be one of my least favorite books in the series. But after my 5th, 6th? 8th? reread-Ok, I have no idea how many times I have read/listened to the series, it’s now one of my favorites
May be slight spoilers ahead
So the the story is slightly less than other books. Death and porn. But then again it is about the White Court. And some Black Court.
But it is hilarious! In a corn kind of way. Thus kablooie.....Thus death
We learn so much though. It’s about family. We learn about Murphy and her family. And Murph gets to shine in this one!
Ebenezar has the opportunity to come clean and he doesn’t
