Yet another incredible addition to the Dresden Files!! This one was a Doozy! Absolutely amazing book / plot with SUCH good character development it was crazy!

First things first I can’t believe
Thomas is Dresden’s brother??!!!
that threw me for such a loop that I nearly dropped the book. I also love the developments with Murphy, Ebaneezer, and Kinkaid this book! Really great stuff seeing this cast of characters getting even more complex and deep!

All in all I absolutely loved it and I’m stoked for the next one!

Thomas centric book Thomas centric book Thomas centric book!

I love my little guy. Although it felt like he was barely in this at all. The parts he had were nice though, and his and Harry's dynamic is very fun to read

The other plots were good as well.

Harry was funny as always, I liked Kincaid

Yeah. Is good.

This one advanced Harry’s overall story arc in some very interesting ways! We learn a lot more about his family and their secrets.

I love this series and all the twists and turns that come with it. Harry Dresden really is one of my favourite characters because of his unrelentingly idiocy in the face of challenges and danger. These books always make me feel better. Watching Harry never give up despite the enormous odds against him makes me feel a little better about the world. This book specifically was an interesting development of characters we had already met. Harry, Thomas, Murphy, and McCoy were all delved into more as solo characters and through their relationships to Harry/each other. There was still tons of action, but the emotional side of things was really at the forefront.
The information about Thomas and Harry's relationship was also really cool, and I'm interested to see how their characters will change now that Harry knows he has a brother and Thomas now has to survive without the White Court.
Also, as always, the writing was very emersive and had a great balence of wit, humour, and seriousness. I'm still so early on in the series, but it genuinely is one of my all time favourites and I can't wait to see what comes next.

I really enjoyed this book and have been loving this series more with each installment. It’s improved so much since the earlier books, and the side characters have become some of my absolute favourites.

Once again, the opening scene was fantastic. e=Exciting, funny, and immediately had me rooting for the main character (and, of course, the puppies… the puppies completely sold me on this opening!).

This book gave us a lot more insight into Harry and the supporting characters like Tommy and Murphy. And introduced a couple new ones (like Mouse!) and I’m so curious to see where their stories go next. The pacing was great, with plenty of entertaining moments. Some that made me laugh, some that made me angry, and even a few that tugged at my heart.

Overall, a really fun and engaging read, and I can’t wait to continue the series!
