Beautiful story that gives you glimpses of the magic that mathematicians see. Great book for anyone interested in mathematics that doesn't have a deep understanding of it. The author did an awesome job of making the book very accessible, entertaining, and quite endearing. I appreciate that he acknowledged that Erdős's quirks weren't always charming and the attention he gave anecdotes.

I picked this book up on a total whim and it was an absolute delight. This is a collection of funny and sweet stories about Erdos, told mostly through the voices of his friends. Taken together, these stories paint a portrait of an eccentric, selfless man who just loved math above all. Plus, this book is just a fun, enjoyable read.

I like math (I'm an engineer), but I'd only heard of Erdos from the Erdos number. This book introduced a lot of great, higher level math concepts in an approachable way, as if it wants to convince the reader to become a mathematician - and, truly, a book about Erdos would be incomplete if it didn't do its damnedest to make more mathematicians. This book additionally cemented Erdos in my mind as being one of the coolest MFers who ever lived.
