[b:Oryx and Crake|46756|Oryx and Crake|Margaret Atwood|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327896599s/46756.jpg|3143431] is quite good, but The Year of the Flood is better yet. I found myself identifying with both Ren and Toby, and I was really drawn to their stories.

After reading this book, I'm in mild danger of becoming a 'prepper'. I want to borrow a book about urban gardening, and dig up my entire yard. This book is 'realistically' scary, and yet very enjoyable.

One last thing- The Year of the Flood ends about an hour after Oryx and Crake- I got a kick out of that.

Adam One’s sermons at the start of each chapter were a bit difficult to get through. I had to skim through to keep my interest.
I absolutely LOVED the bits of crossover between characters in the first book.

FIRST LINE REVIEW: "Who is it tends the Garden, the Garden oh so green?" Second book in the MaddAddams trilogy, but as others have noted, not a trilogy as much as a series. I couldn't remember much about the first book "Oryx and Crake" which I read over a year ago and it didn't matter. Enough bits and pieces started coming back as I read this. A really fascinating, post-apocalyptic story woven by the sure-handed Atwood. Very clever, profound and scary. And this time she leaves the ending wide open for the final book. That's a little frustrating, but...
