Miałam wielką ochotę na poczytanie czegoś o wampirach, ale w tym kontekście ten motyw wypadł bardzo powtarzalnie w stosunku do tego, co już znamy od lat i było po prostu trochę... nudno.

I loved the idea of this vampire themed romcom and I thought the plot stood up to that, but unfortunately I didn’t love the curvy girl representation in this, which was also a key reason I picked this book up.
I understand that you’re in the characters POV so anything they’re feeling you’re suppose to feel too, but this book didn’t make me feel good as a curvy lady. I stuck through to the end in hope of a different vibe with character growth, but I still didn’t feel good at the end of this one.

Spoilers ahead.
I really wanted to love this book. A light hearted Vampire romp with plus sized representation seemed right up my reading alley. As much as I wanted to love Lily she didn’t feel like a real character. It read more like what someone thought the internal monologue of a 25 year old plus sized person would be and it felt inauthentic. Add in a bunch of silly plot points and a completely ridiculous denouement when we finally meet the big bad and I was rooting for the vampire slayer to kill the main character and all of the vampires by the end.

My biggest issue is the complete and total self-hate the main character has throughout the entire book until like the epilogue I feel like they needed to come to terms with themselves a lot sooner otherwise it was a cute little book

I didn't really like the main character and I just couldn't get into the writing. It just wasn't for me. I knew that it might not be going in but I wanted to give it a try. Might not necessarily be a bad book for people who read more contemporary type of romances. I didn't get far enough in to really give any real review on it so I'm not going to tell people to avoid this one or anything. It just wasn't a book for me and that's okay.
