I have a lot of sympathy for the feelings of this mother.
But more than halfway through the book, I definitely got the point and I was looking for more depth and reflection.
I also have no problem with unlikable protagonists and this one has some really awful things to say. Unfortunately some of it felt really unnecessary for the plot and I couldn't get rid of the feeling, that she would say these things as well, if she wouldn't be in the state she is.
Don't get me wrong, I don't need to like a mother to be on her side in a situation like this. But I don't need to finish a book in which the character is just not as interesting as she could be.

An intimate portrait of life as a new mother. I loved the writing, never overworked, Managed to carry over the suffocating, half insanity of sleepless nights and the tedium of caring for a small utterly dependant life. The humour comes at just the right moments and the love for her boy shines through it all.in the morning l read this i relived all the years of caring for my babies again.

I loved this book so much. It’s a raw, tender and uncomfortably honest book about early motherhood with one of the most beautiful endings.
