Love the rhythms, word play, cultural nuance. There’s a lot of play within these pages. Some poems absolutely nail it, some were misses. Overall this is a very good collection.

I’ll be the first to admit I don’t really know anything about poetry but I liked this one. I had to read some of them aloud which helped. I really liked a lot of them but definitely didn’t understand all of them.

I loved the lyrical rhythm and wordplay. Towards the end, I got lost with some of the poems that feature religion, but on the whole, I enjoyed this collection.

Very lyrical and rhythmic collection. The poems were far too long for me -- really beautiful, powerful lines got lost in the greater text, lessening their sharpness. My favorites were those with more experimental form and shape/line breaks.
