Must go back! I liked this book very much but I’m not in the right, dreamy head space for it.

prose was lyrical and at times very beautiful but I couldn’t get over how profoundly unrelatable the protagonist was. not for me, but those interested in themes of womanhood, motherhood, obsession, history should give it a try

This IS a female text.

I loved the interplay between timeline and the poetic prose that so elegantly explores the darker and beautiful parts of being a woman, and being a mother.

I think there is a yearning here that any woman can relate to but also the ambition or obsession when you find something that really focuses your interests.

This novel was really beautiful!
