Meh. Its a little too long for me, the sex scenes are uninspiring, and the plot got a little too dramatic at the end for me. Jacob calling Nick honey was adorable and I love the Nick's hockey team's loyalty and brotherhood. Nick calling himself a "gold star" gay for not sleeping with women rubs me the wrong way.

I wish I had listened to the series in order. I loved Nick and Jacob’s story so much and what they endured so they could live and live on peace although I will never look at Excalibur the same again iykyk.

OTT

Ok. This starts off ok, progresses fast and slow at the same time (if you can believe that) and then about the 50% mark the OTT comes out. Thinking back on it now I felt like I was reading two books. Just, what on earth.

Also, Kayla (Jacob’s Bff) is annoying af. Seriously.

Hate leaving a bad review because I understand the time and effort taking to out this book together but I couldn’t finish this.
Storyline was ok but the writing was simplistic, unnecessarily descriptive at times, often cringey and I could not read the intimate scenes. The repeated references to their d#*ks by pet names was bad. And how the MC described going to the toilet in slang was uncessary and seemed token jock but was just crass. Characters seemed more like caricatures than people, especially the coach.
And not a factor to the rating, but what is with all the mascots? The book is barracudas hockey, the text describes rhetorical team as Bulkdogs, but the chapter headings have an eagle. It’s this kind of flippancy to the story that is through the book and frustrated me enough to stop before the end.

Story of Nick and Jacob

This was a great story. It’s the first I have read from these authors, and I look forward to reading more.

So much happened in this book, the epilogue was jam packed.

Nick J Russo did a great job narrating this book, always does though.

"He licked my lips and slid his tongue between them, and we played mouth hockey for a few minutes."

Is such a weird description.
