A fab debut from Rachel Lewis. Yours, Unexpectedly tells the story of Bex Bardot who is thiiiis close to finishing her degree. A conversation with a school councillor reveals that she’s missing a mandatory fine arts credit to graduate, and the only course that’s available is Intro to Acting. While it’s definitely not her first choice, Bex is willing to commit to get that last pesky credit.

What she’s not expecting is the TA waiting for her at the front of the class: her brother’s best friend who she’s harboured a crush on for years.

Told from both Bex and Anders’ point of view, this is a charming college romance, filled with forced proximity and a nice dash of spice. I enjoyed their dynamic and fun banter. The book has some rom com vibes and a sweet cast of secondary characters including Bex’s brothers & parents + her two roommates/best friends. As a theatre school grad, the acting class bits brought me a lot of joy, and I really enjoyed seeing this love story unfold.

Huge thanks to Rachel Lewis for sharing an ARC with me in exchange for my honest review.
