such a weak start to a series.

The synopsis promises a balance of plot and romance but this is just a book with two very horny protagonists who both have a job on the side. The emotions were weak, the sex scenes added no character insight despite how many there were, the plot was laughable.

This was a great start to a series with a good mystery, good romance, hot sex, and a great set-up for a longer mystery. Plus whispering sweet nothings in Italian. What is hotter than that? I will definitely keep reading this series!

The narrator was great but the story itself was so dry I was afraid it would crumble up and blow away.
I actually fell asleep while listening.

I didn't want to read about a serial killer targeting gay men.

Heavy on the sexy times, less on the mystery.

I would have liked a bit more of the mystery. There were a bit too much talking and hashing out feelings, but that was not what was my greatest objection.
No it was all the details. Every single small detail was there. Sure some scenes benefited from the details, but most of the time the descriptions were a bit too much. It felt almost as if the author was attempting poetry only to get lost somewhere.

This is a decent book. The plot was interesting, though I hate reading about shitty people. TW for cheating and seriously messed up lying to your partner and loved ones (not between the main characters).

The book was a bit insta-love-y, but it was cute. They have an instant attraction and one of them just goes for it while the other is reluctant. Lots of talk during spicy scenes.
