I really wanted to love this. The book felt a little unnecessary, but it was OK. My heart was still broken after Firefly Lane and this just rubbed salt in the wound. I love that we learn more about Cloud/Dorothy. I honestly just wish the entire book was her story rather than only a small part of the book.

So gripping and captivating with such a complex and dynamic storyline. Hannah dives into the lives of the characters we already know and love from Firefly Lane and tells THEIR story, while tying it all together wonderfully. A story about family, love, grief, generational trauma, mental health, abuse, loss, etc. A good stand-alone book but so much better if read following Firefly Lane.

I saw a few bad reviews of this book and that made me nervous. I’m glad I went on anyway. I haven’t read Firefly Lane, but I don’t think you have to to enjoy this book. I was so nervous for the characters. I’ll always remember Pax. We’ve all known a guy like that I think. That last bit was rough and will pull on your emotions. Be prepared.
