A really incredible sequel book. Such a depressing but real depiction of grief.
This was a disappointing follow up to Firefly Lane. It was redundant and not particularly engaging. I loved these characters in the first book and struggled to feel anything for them in this book.
This read very much like a movie sequel and not in a good way. Cloud’s story was the most compelling.
I found this a decent read because as always Hannah is a talented writer but overall this one was a miss for me.

This book was good but not as good as the first Firefly Lane
It was nice to see the characters development and how loss affects them.
Overall a good listen and enjoyable . Nice way to finish of the series and have an ending

I’ve been struggling to rate this book. Like many reviews have said, first 300 pages dragged quite a bit and were really repetitive. The last 100 pages were phenomenal. With that being said, I’d say this is a solid 3⭐️ read. I absolutely loved Firefly Lane but this one lacked the moments of hope and joy. Both stories address difficult topics but there was a levity to Firefly Lane that Fly Away just didn’t have. I really enjoyed the Cloud/Dorothy storyline but struggled with the Marah storyline. I enjoyed this book but it didn’t land the same as the first book.
fast-paced
The brokenness of this story really bothered me. I LOVED Firefly Lane, so I expected to love this one.
Kristin Hannah wrote a beautiful story. It is just so pain-filled and hurtful. The narration went back and forth a lot between the characters. Sometimes, I found myself wondering who I was reading in those moments. I did not enjoy how much it bounced around. Different headings would have helped.
The last third of this story is redeeming, and the reader is taken to a place where our hearts can feel melancholy. A very redeeming ending.
