I have figured out that this is all my fault. I haven't done the reading or even at least watched the movie to have a basic understanding of this book. Instead, I read a prequel book and a graphic novel for a story I have no idea about. This is also my first graphic novel, so I won't deny that I could have done something wrong there, too. You would think it would be obvious, but I don't trust anything that I'm not completely knowledgeable in. So this is something I will have to give a second attempt to after I have done the appropriate work to understand things better. Because the art was really beautiful in this, and I'm sure it's really good, but I wouldn't know that since I didn't really know what I was reading. So again, this is all user error, which I will rectify soon.

Ngl, i was really hoping they’d keep in some of the weird scene. They sanitised a lot of the graphic scenes so like I get it, but I wish they put them in!

Still really fun. Looking forward to the next part.

Beautiful illustrations to complement such a wonderfully complex story. There's a lot that seems to be glossed over here, but I still enjoyed it.

I actually loved it? The vibes between Glinda and Elphaba are so sapphic, and their relationship is even just as fun to watch play out without the Gelphie headcanon.

Loved the art, the interpretation of the wizard in all his spooky mechanisms. I loved the way Nessa is depicted - I’d always been curious to see her without arms instead of wheelchair bound.

I love how Boq was a certified munchkin from munchkinland - and the little detail that one of Galinda’s friends was a small munchkinlander too. I thought it was a cute detail.

I love Fiyero. I had a crush on the book depiction of him when I was young, so it’s nice to see him drawn the way I always pictured him, with his dark skin and tattoos.

And damn! This story is so dark and political, the way the Animal abuse is depicted makes me sick, especially that scene with Dillamond!!! And the Bear Cub!!!

I’m absolutely in love with the art style and think it captures the essence of Wicked perfectly and creates a deeper understanding of each scene.

I do not appreciate how much is cut out! It makes the story feel like it has zero flow.
