I admit, I don't get most modern poetry and/or lit prose. I don't see the joke, maybe. For whatever reason, prose that reads as if a thirteen-year-old boy masturbated onto a pile of horse shit, and then painted dirty jokes on the side of a school bus with the resulting mess doesn't do it for me.
I've met Matt Ryan. He was one of my brother's professors - probably his favorite - and by all accounts is both a great guy and a great teacher. I wanted to like this. But... I don't get it.
