A very hopeful account of mental healthy acceptance and recovery. Difficult to read at certain points but these passages are necessary.

my favourite book!!! a beautifully written memoir that captures the bpd experience in a way that’s both heartbreakingly honest & hopeful!!! huge huge recommendation to anyone with bpd or who has a loved one with bpd.

This book was a heartbreaking memoir by a woman with borderline personality disorder. It’s not the most well-written, but is very personal and eye-opening, especially since I knew very little about BPD before reading it

I appreciated the view of what it’s like to live the complexity, frustration, and what may seem like “crazy” behaviors, as well as the views on recovery, remission, and the myriad ways we learn to be with ourselves.

so helpful! definitely one of the best books on borderline personality that I've read so far.

excellent book. covers DBT, buddhist practice, 'borderline', IFS from the perspective on a white middle class women from Boston who has a mother who travels to avoid dealing with her daughters emotional issues and has various additional support people that cushion her life during the decade she tries to find a place in the world.
