Wow

Okay I don’t know if more is coming. If not, that sucks. It just ends on a cliffhanger. I have a feeling that since this book was finishes a yr ago there isn’t more. So just be prepared for that.

Loveddd

I love this series. Idek if it has anything to do with the series itself or if it’s the writing style, but I’d read a recipe book from this author.

I’m sad it’s looking like Gemma won’t be joining the harem (a bi gal can only dream) but I’m used to not getting my sapphic goodness so I guess I’ll just stick with Spai my bbs.

My Dystopian Fetish Monster is Pleased?

I'm not sure I've come across another series that felt like it was written specifically for me. This is it. This is my favourite. Can't explain it in words, maybe in shapes? I'm prone to using dance moves when I'm flummoxed (much to the embarrassment of everyone in my life), but this book. This series.

I mean it speaks to my nerd side and to my dystopian fetish (yeah, that exists), but it also speaks to the angry woman in my brain and also the anarchist holding a match with a huge grin on her face, ready to watch everything burn.

So yeah. I loved Book of The Lost AAV-07d25-11 (The JAK2 Cycle, Book 3) by VES Pullen.

The romance part is a slow burn, which is my favourite because it lends more time to feel bonds grow between Azzie and her dudes and makes it more believable to me. Don't get me wrong, I love a quick pump and dump, too, but this...this is slow, agonising tension with enough juvenile reactions and language to make it more fun? I still giggle over fart jokes, ok? Or maybe just more my cup of cocoa. It's a serious book written with humour, cleverly (that's a weird word to say a few times aloud, shit, it's just a weird word to look at, I mean is it even a word?).

But beyond the romance part, the story itself is gripping. This is an epic tale of revenge. It's emotional and unjust, but filled with hope. I'm clearly dazzled.

Well, not sure how to end this review, but especially if you relate to being a dork or just have some snark inside you, you'll probably like this. But, more especially if you like dystopian sci-fi adventures with some worldly innocence thrown in. And

Awful, hated it, I don't even know why I finished it. They finally leave. She turns 18. They get shot at by a bunch of mask-wearing hippies? She meets a bunch of bikers. It was boring. The only reason I gave this one 2 stars was the hot MMF scene.

DNF

I know I'm in the minority here but this story really fell apart for me in book 3. I was enjoying the series and loved the FMC and her dry wit, but she lost me in this book.

The first huge chunk of the book is all about the Bunker. Them getting ready to GTFO of Salem and lots of inner turmoil for the FMC. There are very lengthy descriptions of her disease and the vaccine, and while it seems well researched, it became extremely tedious to follow. Nothing really 'happens' during this part of the book.

I'm also a little put off by the extreme change in everyone's relationships. They've only known her a few weeks, and spent quite a bit of time fucking up over and over, and yet suddenly everyone is in love? I could possible buy that from Sev, considering he spent some actual quality time with her. But for Jason to confess his love? When have they even hung out? I don't get it.

I found myself skimming through a lot of the chapters and eventually decided to give up on the story. Kind of a bummer.
