I received an ARC of this ebook from the author in return for an honest review, so here it is.

The author has, this time, chosen to break the narrative across two main viewpoints so that we as readers can discover for ourselves what took place behind the scenes as told in the previous novel before moving on, to discover what happens next.

We learn more of the motivations of some of the other characters that weren't so central to previous books in the series, as well as seeing what they've been up to in the meantime. There are also a number of new cast members, and we even get a look inside one of the more secretive organisations that might actually be trying to control the fate of humanity.

Even though this is the last of the series, both the ending and the author's note suggest that there is plenty of scope for the story of Elfrida et al. to go on, in another series, perhaps. For my part, given how much I've enjoyed this series, I hope that there will be many more novels to come.
