I recommend reading this book to your kids, especially elementary. I read it tonight to mine and cried just reading it to them. Each kindness...or lack of kindness...has a ripple effect, like a stone thrown into water. It's somber & powerful & I hope J & E get it.

Loved this book on kindness, this would be a good one to re read each year before school starts

A touching story, one that would be great to read and discuss with your children or grandchildren. Beautiful cover!

Heartbreaking book about a girl who is unkind to a classmate and feels regret after the girl moves away. Great family read-aloud: the message comes through loud and clear.

This is a lovely book about kindness with a bittersweet ending. A tough lesson, but a much needed one.

Loved the artwork and the message in this book. It reminds me of The Hundred dresses by Estes, too. They'd make a great pairing...

A beautiful story about empathy, kindness, and missed chances. Chloe and her friends shun the new girl in class, though all the new girl wants is to be friends.

A great read for team building with grade 2-5. The ending completes the story, and I was glad to share a book with my class that does not have your typical, "happy ending" as do many picture books for young readers. This story led to some great class discussion.

More Jacqueline Woodson on a Sunday afternoon :)
