Such a bingeable and addicting read - I hardly put it down. If you want a blend of the hunger games, throne of glass, game of thrones, and fourth wing, pick this book up 🐺❤️🔥🏔️🏰

I usually find that debut novels have potential but are always lacking the experience to be a truly amazing book. That is NOT the case with Direbound. I found the book this morning and finished it within 12 hours.
Direbound is fairly predictable with its unassuming FMC who joins a military academy but it had several twists I was not anticipating (especially the ending!!). Fast paced action with multiple MMCs (not a RH) and plenty of banter to go around. Dare I say I will now consider this a God Tier book?!

This was my very first ARC read and I'm not disappointed!
The writing was very gripping and having been a longtime GoT fans, it's fun to read about the bonding with the direwolves. The first challenge the author wrote about was very gripping, you really feel how tense the situation is. I really liked the main character as well and glad that the author portrays her as a more athletic character and not someone who is just magically gifted and fit.
The ending twist was shocking! Left on such a cliffhanger too!

I can’t remember the last time I finished a romantasy book in one day, but once I started this book I could not put it down. Truly wanted to cancel all my plans and stay up as long as possible in order to finish it. Were there some parts of the book that were a little predictable and some telling more than showing? Ya maybe but overall the story was so good that I can overlook it all. I truly couldn’t put it down past a certain point. And the twists??? Like the twists were twisting. I literally read the last 50 pages of the book sitting straight up because my jaw was dropping every other page. Loved this one and can’t wait to read the next. Romantasy is back baby!!

A Must-Read Fantasy Debut!
This book took me on an unforgettable rollercoaster of emotions! The betrayal, the intricate world-building, the jaw-dropping plot twists—absolute brilliance. And for a debut novel? Simply phenomenal.
Meryn Cooper has spent her life fighting to protect those she loves. But when her younger sister, Saela, is kidnapped, she’s forced into the last place she ever wanted to be—among the King’s elite warriors, the Bonded, and their ruthless direwolves.
Determined to reach the front lines of a centuries-old war and rescue her sister, Meryn enlists in the King’s army. But survival comes at a cost. Bonded to a feral direwolf and thrust into brutal training where one wrong move means death, she quickly learns that danger lurks in every shadow—and that betrayal is inevitable.
Fans of Onyx Storm, Throne of Glass, and ACOTAR will devour this book. But be warned: it’s even more addictive. Prepare for your next book obsession!

I am so thankful to have been able to read this as an ARC!
First impression when finishing the book: gasp.
The world feels full, immersive, and like there’s so much more to explore. I started reading the book and then it absorbed me until I finished it! Meryn is a scrappy FMC, a street fighter coming from the slums of the Eastern quarter in the capital Sturmfrost. She bonds the Direwolf Anassa. After that, it was nonstop action through the rest of the Bonding Trials culminating in a twist that made me seethe with rage against one particular character!! Meryn did annoy me at times with how stubborn she was but I can see her really coming into her own in the next books and can’t wait to see how that unfolds. I also enjoyed the side characters and they gave me Iron Squad vibes from Fourth Wing.
Even though this was an ARC read for me, I’ll be picking it up when it debuts and will definitely continue the series!
The plot has a strong FMC, magic, rich world building, an action-filled plot, multiple spice scenes. Read this if you enjoyed Fourth Wing, Throne of Glass, Hunger Games.
