I like this series a lot, the world is easy to slip into and the obstacles the central couples have to overcome are always sufficiently challenging. My biggest complaint is that the female leads have a tendency of being a little bit interchangeable (Renata, and possibly Elise, excepted). In this book, Claire didn't really have anything to distinguish her from predecessors such as Dylan, Gabrielle and Tess, which was a shame, as the relationship with Roth was interesting and could have afforded more complexity. Never mind! Looking forward to Chase's certain-to-be-angsty book but I think I have a while to wait!

Plot still moving along nicely. I had to skip a book until it comes into the library but easy to follow what I missed.

As always I enjoy this series so much. I love the corniness of it. It's pretty obvious what's going to happen romantically but I love that part. I'm a big romantic fan. I love the supernatural element involved with the romance. This book was as good as the others I regret it too much so long to finish it.

Another amazing book in the series!

I was a little hesitant to read this book as I had little interest in Andreas' story. And, to be honest, I don't feel Adrian did a good job of making him very interesting. I also, unfortunately, skimmed the reviews prior to reading it and some reviewers didn't like Claire, so I had that going into it too.

In the end, I really liked the story, but it wasn't until The Order came into play about 1/3 of the way through. I think Andreas' special power is pretty unique and I love how it was incorporated into the story. I also ended up liking Claire. How their connection comes into play toward the end of the book is really sweet.

Once again, Lara Adrian does a great job of writing the women's roles in these stories. I love that they each have a special power and can help the Order out in their own special way. I think that really makes this series unique.

Well, I'm afraid I'm going to be difficult about this one and give it only 3*, or perhaps 3.5*. Ashes of Midnight certainly had all the makings of a moving, angsty vampire romance, but somehow I never really got into the characters as much as I wanted to. I found myself skimming over portions of the book I felt were redundant. In short, it felt very much like all the other Adrian books, same song sixth verse. That doesn't mean bad. No, I enjoy Ms. Adrian's writing, but it does mean I need a little something new to shake this whole storyline up. I'm planning on getting the next book if for no other reason than to be ready for #8 due out later this month. In that one I believe we may get that little something different in a love interest that isn't a breedmate.

Oh! Loving this series!! I just can't get enough!! Great book! Wonderful continuation to a spectacular story/world! Off to get the next one!

In Ashes Of Midnight….we get the exciting continuation of the series and yummy we get Andreas Story. I have truly admired this character for the majority of the series and I love seeing how he has helped the order. This book was quite heartbreaking for me at times because Andreas is going through hell. He lost his coven….they were murdered and not just his men….but women and their children were all slaughtered. He is out for vengeance, and he has a burning hatred building inside him….a burning that may destroy him if not for the good woman he has always loved and stands by him. Claire is going through her own hell, when her mate betrays her and doesn’t seem to care if she is in danger or not. She has always loved Andreas, but he left her and never returned. Now circumstances have changed for both of them, and we see these two and their courage and love they have for each other. These two are split in moments of the book, which is understandable given the circumstances, and I loved the way they protect and stand for each other. It was quite remarkable to see and I just craved more of these two and my heart was so saddened when the book was over. This story was thrilling, passionate and full of adventure and suspense…..gimme more!!!
