The disability representation here is so good. The emphasis on accessibility, the pitying looks, the issues surrounding independence, the way people speak differently to you and around you… it’s comprehensive and done in a way that doesn’t feel preachy. It enhances the story very well and is accurate.
My only issue, as a disabled person myself, is the use of the term “differently abled” (which was only used once, thankfully) and the use of person first language (which was used almost constantly). The vast majority of us prefer identity first language (ex. disabled person, not person with disability), and we abhor the term “differently abled.” That was the most unrealistic part of the book, having Emma say she “loved that term.” Disabled isn’t a bad word; please use it!
Overall, I loved this book and I will definitely recommend it. But due to the issues mentioned above, which could have been avoided by having sensitivity readers, I have deducted 0.5 stars.

"She was a beautiful girl, a beautiful woman, now my wife. I wished fate hadn’t shackled her to me. So much darkness lay in her past, and I carried too much darkness for it not to stain her future."
Such a long wait for the book and I finished it in a matter of a few hours. The romance was sweet and Samuel's character was way better than I expected. Emma was strong and independent and deserved nothing but the best. Her character was way too mature for her age, though. I liked how Samuel treated her but sometimes he was too controlling. The pace was just fine but it felt like nothing much happened in the book. It was all about how Samuel & Emma adjusted after being married, and it was very nice but due to that, the plot felt weak. Still, it was nice seeing all the outfit characters, especially Leonas. I cannot wait for his book because I think he will definitely be a good leader. But some of the other side characters were not very likeable, especially Renato. Even though he was Samuel's bestfriend, I could not get myself to like him because he was just so cocky and sleazy. Giorgia definitely deserved better than him. Overall, this book was enjoyable. The first half was very good and the chemistry between Sam & Emma was amazing but by the last half, the spark kind of fizzled out tbh. The epilogue also felt lack luster. Still, this book was definitely better than some of the author's latest releases. So I'll give it 3.75 stars.

I loved this.
I missed Cora’s writing, and even after everything I do think this book was worth the wait. ♥️
