It's a romance book about the mafia, you know, the "I will kidnap and dissolve your 12 yo child in acid" sort of guys (yeah it happened IRL), people that beat or kill to offer "protection" for your establishment, deal drugs, firearms and humans but the sensitivity issues were about a character being wheelchair bound?

The 19th of this month 31 years ago the mafia killed a judge and his police escort, this two months after they had killed another judge, his wife and a member of the escort.
Do I like to read mafia? Not much. Too close. Too painful.
Did I ever dare criticize who loves the genre or who writes it romanticizing something so vile?
