Things I liked:
  • Dare I say, a return to form? This was the first new release I’ve liked by this author in a while and I’m so relieved.
  • Emma’s character was SO fascinating to me. I loved seeing her experience with disability and all of the messy feelings involved with it. She was so softly strong and I loved that about her.
  • I enjoyed revisiting a familiar cast of characters in different circumstances. Danilo in particular was fascinating to me this time around. Samuel’s story with his friends was also good. Truthfully I forgot about those events and it really showed how potent grief can be.
  • This book made me SO curious about Samuel’s parents because they seemed very in love.
Things I didn’t like:
  • I knew it was coming the entire time, but I was still so disappointed when Samuel drank and drove. I was so frustrated with him and with Emma for getting in that car. I think that was the point but still.
  • I really wished we saw more of how things developed with Serafina. Little teases hear and there.

~A Touch Of Fate~Cora Reilly~

~Dual Narration~C.J. Mission & Lucy Rivers~

~Produced By~Erin Spencer at One Night Stand Studios~

"I wanted to touch him with a despaired longing I was entirely unfamiliar with, but he didn’t feel like mine to touch yet. I was his, by law, by tradition, and because he’d claimed me as such, but he didn’t feel like mine. I wondered if he ever would."

♡This was my first read by Cora Reilly & I really enjoyed it! This was a sweet, spicy, slow-burn m@fia romance with two mcs that went above & beyond for one another & truly touched fate.

The narration for this audiobook was great! I love Lucy & she was the perfect narrator to bring Emma our strong & determined FMC to life. C.J. is a new to me narrator & I thought he did an amazing job at bringing Samuel our emotionally unavailable m@fia heir MMC to life.

I you like slow-burn m@fia romances with loads of tension & characters that would do anything for the person they love look no further♡

INFINITY STARS ♾️

i dropped all responsibilities and bought this on release because i just couldn’t pass this book up!

emma and samuels story was soooo beautiful. it was real, raw and so so flawed but i think that’s why i loved it so much. it was so good to finally get to understand things from samuel’s pov and i actually felt really sad for him when serafina was mentioned. twisted pride is my absolute favourite book, they’re my favourite couple but i completely forgot about the family she left behind, how they would have felt after all of it. it was really insightful. also when he would open up about his trauma with losing his best friends, really really hurt because you could almost feel his anguish and guilt.

emma is theeee strongest female ever! she is determined to prove everyone wrong and doesn’t let her disability get in the way of her goals and aspirations in life and she even gives back to those who also struggle, which is honestly the sweetest thing. the way cora wrote her story was beautiful because the disability rep was incredibly well done! people assume that those in wheelchairs cant have a sex life, happy marriages or babies but none of that is true and cora really shows that through her writing. emma’s disability also wasn’t what defined her. i just loved everything about her and this story.

i loved the contrast from how emma and samuel were with each other at the beginning of the book compared to how they were at the end of the book. it was so sweet to finally see samuel allow her in and no longer scared of seeming weak, which is often a rhetoric men nowadays are feared of. samuel is the literal definition of growth by the end of this book and i lovedddddd it honestly.

forever gonna be one of my fave books, up there with twisted pride

Okay here’s a little rant. Look when it comes to Cora Reilly most of her books that I’ve read have been hit or miss. No offense to Fragile Longing, but this book was way better. I honestly loved how Emma was betrayed and seeing how she just wasn’t going to roll over. As far as Samuel, he kind of just felt like any other made man, nothing really suck out for me. I just wish the ending didn’t feel rushed, there definitely should’ve been more groveling from him at the end when he messed up.
