I have waited years for this story. I appreciate how Cora didn’t make Emma’s identity solely about her disability. Even though the majority viewed her in that way. Emma was strong and determined. Samuel was better than I expected. I also liked to point out the descriptions she gave us about Emma’s environment. What she needed, how many don’t consider the circumstances of others. I felt Cora did a great job.

Emma is definitely a new favorite FMC. I loved that she didn’t let her disability or her wheelchair define her. And honestly? I didn’t expect her to be so outspoken (even with Samuel and the people around her) which I loved. The girl knows how to communicate, and I respect that.

Sometimes I even forgot she was only 18 because of how mature and grounded she was.

This might be one of the rare healthy couples in the Coraverse. Yes, Sam had his struggles, but thanks to Emma’s patience, he finally accepted that he needed help and was willing to do something about it. With her by his side and the support of his family.

My notes reading this book:

Why at his every chapter he is like "I am such a bad deal." ,"I mess up ", "I am not an reliable person'.... really he is just sabotaging himself...

She is a bit hypocarte, telling him every chance she gets that he can trust her when the only thing on her mind is to check his phone. Like they just get married a day ago. An ARRANGED marriage. She should ve know that there won t be rainbows and unicorns moments in their marriage. Especially in the beggining....

I don t know if I weaned / got out of habit of reading Cora books or if this one is just more spicy, but it s to much spice for my liking.
She is so obedient. I want her to be more stately, imposing. Also sometimes she is mature, but most of time she acts kind of childish. Like I get that she is 18, but she herself said that she is more mature then other people her age because of the wheelchair.
It makes me so frustrated that he thinks he can just reapair all problems with sex.

I had to drag myself to finish it....
