One of the most profound books I've ever read. This is a diary from the height of the AIDS crisis (pre medicine that kept you alive) written by a young mother shortly before her husband is diagnosed. From then on out, it's an incredibly personal and intimate look as a family strives to stay together despite a desperate situation. This is a book of profound sorrow, anger, exhaustion, and human dignity. This was my second reading, and I couldn't put it down like it was my first time. A very personal look at the private lives of a family dealing with terminal illness.
