Holy crap I love this book and I love Carrie Soto.
So engaging, intense, the games were so gripping, loved the characters and quotes from this book. Favourite tjr book so far.
Ranking would be 1) Carrie Soto 2) Daisy jones 3) Evelyn Hugo 4) Malibu rising

Loved the characters and the writing and how the protagonist wasn’t what women are expected to be. Really resonated with her. She kind of gives off autistic vibes and I love seeing even if its not explicitly said, representation in that. The social anxiety, not knowing how to interact with people or understanding small talk, the not caring about eating the same food everyday and actively wanting the same food everyday. Other examples i cant think of right now but Just little things that I as an autistic woman noticed.

Love the gold versions cover too haha

A Taylor nunca me decepciona. Uma personagem difícil, que pra quem leu Malibu Renasce, já vem com precedentes. E ainda sim, conseguiu me fazer torcer por ela. Entender a grosseria, a pressão, a disciplina doentia. Tive pouco tempo pra ler o livro, mas sempre que pegava devorava.  Personagens fortes e controversas são o forte desse universo. Humanas complexas e imperfeitas, com inseguranças e muita coragem. Amei conhecer Soto.

Only Taylor Jenkins Reid could make me care about tennis.

I particularly loved how this book explored aging and womanhood. Carrie isn't exactly a likeable character (which is the point!) but she's easy to empathise with.

Unlike some of Taylor Jenkins Reid's other books (especially Daisy Jones), I wouldn't necessarily recommend the audiobook over reading a physical copy. It wasn't awful, but the main narrator's Australian and British accents are honestly not great. There were also quite a few times when the characters spoke to each other in Spanish and I would have liked to use Google to translate, but it's too much of a hassle when you're listening instead of reading.
