I had higher hopes for this book, but I was disappointed. I wanted more of Gregor, and I was upset he died. I also struggled with the way the book was written.

I just read this book with my seniors, and I think I liked it a lot more this time around. They, however, did not.

I also read more about Kafka and his life. It turns out he was the sole provider of his family and he had a horrible relationship with his father, which is pretty much reflected in Gregor's situation. Good stuff. Good, deep stuff.

Sad book for sad people in a match.

I can’t fathom enough my first read on Kafka’s onto thinking “Oh, this book is going to be pretentious”. Turns out, it is not. It is sincerely put together really fit to the fact of the uncanny transformation of Gregor Samsa overlooked all things he had done prior, as if what he worked for in a great spent for the family only to made their demeanors to Gregor switch (or maybe those are REAL sh*tty characters? lol). What is the point of hoping your family to treat you as normal being regardless your odd figure? They didn’t care because you couldn’t whoop your a** to work and became so much far from yourself into workaholic but not enough to beat the sh*t out of careless father, a degenerate head of the family who couldn’t afford the family except to rot on that armchair. (This book is related to Kafka’s daddy issues, I think)
