i cried reading this. considering the time it was written, it’s so rare to find a male writer center female characters, from their own POV, and treat them with so much love and sympathy. he doesn’t forgive or excuse any of his characters, but he really breathes life into them in a refreshing way

there are moments where Tennessee’s fruitiness show in his stage directions and that really adds to the experience!

this book will stay forever with me, will reread a lot of times
really does showcase “the destructive power of society on the sensitive non-comformist individual”

please do analyze it in depth, you won’t regret it. and look at literary analysis because this play is full of symbolism that is so interesting to explore

Sucks that it ended so violently I loved the beginning and Blanche is a star.

Had to read this for class. None of the characters but maybe Mitch is likeable and frankly I am tired of plays that are pointless tragedies. It would've been different if there were good or hopefull moments but this been depressing from start to finish.
