This was a difficult but extremely interesting read and I’m not sure I would have chosen it for myself (it was a gift.) It was extremely informative to learn about judicial history relating to gender rights in particular, and absolutely infuriating to read the chapters pertaining to the past 5-10 years.
This is a really good book about the "Notorious RBG". A thorough look at a wonderful U.S. Supreme court justice, who has tried throughout her life to bring about civil rights for all, regardless of race or gender.
I enjoy learning about the Supreme Court and its' cases in particular, and this book just fit the bill for me. If a reader just wants to know about the life of Ginsburg, this may not be the book for you. Personally, I loved all the law that was included.
I really liked that De Hart really went to the core of Ginsburg's decision process, detailing many of cases that she either affirmed or dissented.
I did not give the book a 5 star rating, because it was almost too pro Ginsburg, according to this book she no flaws (I would have liked to have seen a few, but I realize that she is still living and serving on the court).

Very long, lots of legal history to give context for her decisions
I'm thoroughly inspired by RBG's dedication and conviction for the rule of law, as well as by her championing of equality and of the people who should have more in law.
This is a fantastic account of the great Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s life, and an inspiring book to read. However, the author tends to ramble and does a poor job, in some cases, of explaining clearly the facts of many cases introduced. Also, the author’s opinions about cases and situations (sometimes passed off as Ginsburg’s opinions) were increasingly distracting and frustrating. I found the multi-page explanation of the 2016 election awful — it seemed that the author was writing the book to an audience that will exist forty years in the future, as it was mired with incredibly opinionated and detailed recounts of political happenings that had nothing to do with Ginsburg or the Supreme Court for at least three pages.
I love rbg even more now because of this book. It was a little difficult to get through because I don’t understand a lot about legal things, but still good.
I enjoyed the organization of this work. The partially chronological, partially topical arrangement didn't add much information to what is already available about RBG, but it did place things in an easy to digest perspective. Pulling cohesive themes out of a life is no simple task, and I was impressed by the author's work at doing so. I liked that the story showed RBG's progression, stages, etc.
