Even though it's an old book, it surely still stands relevant in today's world.

I loved this book. It's a great mix of practical and philosophical advice for both finances and life all told through a nice mix of stories and characters. A lot of the advice is simple and timeless but great to hear retold in this way. If I had to recommend a single book for finances, it might just be this book.

My takeaways

Save 10% income before spending
Follow experts not fools into investment
Don’t invest in someone who is not prepared
Don’t invest in friends where their ill fortune will bite back on you.
Conviction and determination in measurable wealth goals are more valuable than pure aspiration
Continuous learning in one’s craft will pay back manifold
Take advantage of compound saving
Invest your accumulated wealth to procure a tidy sum for retirement
It is better to pay back late debts than runaway from them. Build up back your reputation and be grateful rather than ashamed of friends and vendors who have leant you money. Often is the case they are lenient.
Hard work is key to a good life. Working hard will prosper new opportunities in the future.

Meh, tranqui. Me gusta como da consejos financieros en forma de fábula. No lo releería, pero me quedo con varias enseñanzas.

Great Babylonian parables about how to learn to save and grow wealth.  I see why it has resonated so since the book was first published.  The keys to success are as accessible as they were during Babylonian times.

Why is this book so famous? So much of what it says seems like common sense to me.

3 stars for the narrator (Paul Michael's) voice. The accents were problematic and the *advice* catered to the Dave Ramsey (financial douche ding dong) advice.
