Flint & Kenzie: Where was their quality time?

This is A.K. Micheal's second contribution to the "Vampire's Thirst" collection. Flint, Victor's best friend, is blessed with a Bloodmate in Scotland, here he saves Kenzie from being abducted and trafficked. Flint saves Kenzie but she is badly injured and Flint must take them out before they can finish what they started and take his Bloodmate.

I didn't enjoy Flint's book as much as I did the Victor's. The main reason was because Kenzie and Flint spent very little time on page with each other. A majority of the story focused on Flint teaming up with Jana and Victor (from book one) and new allies, Quinn and Talon to neutralize the threat against Kenzie. They didn't spend any quality time together until the end of the book, at that was a rushed love scene. I have no idea who Kenzie is, or if I even like her. I don't know her. Which is a shame because she could have been as awesome as Kimber was for Victor in book one. There was no build up, not angst, courtship or anything. It was instalove. All this book offered was an angry, violent Flint who dropped F-bombs every few words in one sentence.

If you skip over Fliunt's book in this series, you're really not missing anything. The only part of this book I enjoyed was the return of Victor and pregnant dragon, Kimber, who was ready to do battle and shift to join the fight. How cute!

Happy reading!

Flint is happy for Victor and his new found happiness but he could do with some luck on the girlfriend front himself! He heads to the club looking for some fun, looking for some action and trying to fill up this new found time on his hand whilst Victor is on his extended honeymoon.

He decides to go on a holiday and ends up heading to Scotland! But when he flied over the Edinburgh area on the way to the airport his thirst erupts in full force.

Kenzie has been having weird dreams of the hot variety! But when she is out and about in Edinburgh she comes face to face by some supernatural hunters. When Flint charges to the rescue he realises she is his bloodmate and then the real fun begins!

OOOOh this was fab! I loved the big battle scene and the engaging chatter between the characters, all adding to the "real-feel" of the characters even though they are fictional! It's always great when a book is set in Scotland, I'll forgive the fact this was Edinburgh based LOL. Ace and Talon were wonderful additions and I really want to know more about a certain scaryass council woman!

Quinn may have it all but even this wealthy and ancient vampire is missing something...a mate!

Quinn doesn't really trust anyone except Victor and Thorne, his trusty friend, sidekick and 2nd in command. He especially doesn't trust the Directive. But Quinn is slowly loosing his vice like grip on himself. His urges are getting out of hand and nothing slakes his thirst, for blood or sex. When he has to go to Hong Kong on business he almost loses it on his jet!

But when Jana turns up and lets the cat out of the bag that his bloodmate is near and in danger, Quinn will tear the world apart to find her and keep her safe.

I thought that it was totally like a man to miss all the signs right in front of their face. I mean they've just been through Victor's escapades and Quinn and Thorne are missing all the same cues *facepalm***

So bloodlust running rampant - check. Blackmailed by the Russian Mafia - check. Supernatural traffickers after your bloodmate - check. Directive flinging their weight about - check. Fabulous read in a superb series. Wunderbar!!!
