4.5*
This book was SO GOOD -- some weird parts that I wish were digested/delved into more, however, I think everyone needs to read this. I absolutely loved the afterword/epilogue as well. This book was a really interesting way to look into the way some people reach political consciousness in their lives.

A powerful memoir especially in audiobook form

A completely excellent and eye opening read
reflective slow-paced

Read this for class. It was phenomenal. It's so good/interesting that I have no words right now.

Love love love!
The inspiring story of a revolutionary daughter throughout South America. As daughter of Chilean exile, it was lovely to see a book from Chilean exile perspective and I am in constant admiration of the courage of revolutionaries

I learned a lot about about the history and politics of south and central america in the 70s to 00s, and loved the author's story and perspective.

Beautiful. Clear and elegant prose outlining a very different upbringing.

How far would you go to free your country from dictatorship and inequality? This book is the story of people suffering, dying, abandoning their lives, leaving behind loved ones, and taking immense risks for their beliefs. It's horrifying, but beautiful.
