Not a lot happens in this book, but I guess it could set the stage for the rest of the series.

Ehh it was a quick read with some dark elements. Not much to write home about
I’m a bit confused on why this has a high rating? I get it’s supposed to be fun and about the men and RH and spice but…even that isn’t written well and thought out.
The book is short and not much of any development and even the spicy scenes are short and to the point, so to speak.
Worth reading on KU? Eh. Maybe. Would I ever buy it or read it again? Nope.
Will I finish the series? Probably. I’m a glutton for punishment. I’m curious on the cliffhanger which is why this gets two stars and not one.

If you’re going to write 90% smut, at least make it GOOD smut. Not “let’s trauma-bond in a cursed forest and call it foreplay” smut. This read like someone made a kink list and said, “Let’s build a vague plot around it.”
Peter Pan? Broody. Hot. Absolutely insufferable. He’s the kind of man who’d ghost you and then watch your IG stories for 3 months.
Wendy? Ma’am gets kidnapped and instantly decides to get freaky with the first hot, damaged man she sees. Like girl… blink twice if you’re okay.
The Lost Boys? Emotionally unstable, constantly shirtless, and clearly allergic to communication. It’s giving “we’ve all been through something” but instead of therapy they chose group makeout sessions.
Plot? Allegedly. I think there was a shadow? A curse? Honestly, I lost it somewhere between the fifth unnecessary makeout scene.
Final thoughts? I don’t know what this was, but I’m emotionally unstable now and not in the cute way.
1 star because I cannot give zero.

Wow. Just wow! This was not at all what I was expecting but I was hooked from the start and couldn't put it down. So much spice

Ok! I figured I had a 50% chance I’d hate or love it. And I actually really liked it. This is officially my first Why Choose. I am more of a Fated Mates kind of girl, but this was fun to read. I wasn’t expecting much except for spice. But I was really into the mystery element of why a Darling always went missing on their 18th birthday. And was pleasantly surprised at my curiosity.
The characters:
-I loved the twins almost instantly. They are funny and sweet and assertive. I love how they interact with everyone.
-Vane I just don’t care for, I just don’t like him.
-Cherry was a nice side character to throw into the mix. But I sense she’s going to be trouble.
-Winne is quite a new character for me. I loved that she didn’t shy away and was actually why confident in herself. Though at times she definitely thinks more with her body than her brain.
-Pan, he was exactly what I imagined. Mysterious, self assured and kind when need be. I was expecting a bit more of a slow burn romance with Winne.
-Overall I had a fun time reading it, I read it basically in one day. And started The Dark One immediately afterwards. I am very curious to see where the story goes.
