“If you are not the most interesting person you know, then you’re doing it wrong.”

Excuse me! What was that ending!? Literally had me screaming WTF.

If I'm being honest I'm having a hard time with this review because this felt like a lot, but at the same time not enough. But I guess it's the whole point of it being a series, you know.

In this book we get introduced to Winnie, Pan and their lost boys. There's not a lot of romance in this one, it's more of a getting to know the characters and it's also more centered on Pan trying to get his shadow back.

I enjoyed getting to know all the characters and seeing how all of them have such different personalities, and I gotta say, the casting for these characters was on point. Each narrator did a great job of bringing all the characters to life.

I honestly can't wait to listen to the rest of the series, and I'm definitely glad that I don't have to.

Quote: “Because in this world, and in yours, if you’re not the monster, then you’re the prey. And we can’t have that, Darling. Especially when it comes to old white men.”

Peter Pan and the Lost Boys is all I’m saying! So good. Winnie is so awesome.

The vibes were immaculate. A deranged (in a good way) summer dark romance.

This was fun! I'm not used to reading books this short so it felt very fast and I feel like even an extra hundred pages would have added way more depth. It just felt rushed and like the characters had one personality trait each (the nice one, the dark one etc)
That being said, I did really enjoy it. The characters have a lot of potential, I love a retelling and I was just in the mood for something quick and spicy.
I will definitely be continuing the series, I have high hopes because again this has so much potential from here.

This is the second time I've read this book but this time, I went through it through the audiobook. I wanted to do a full review this time around.

Winnie believes the stories about Peter Pan are all wrong - he's not the villain her mother portrayed him to be. For over the past two centuries, the women in the Darling family have been taken by Pan so he can find his shadow but what if he's not the villain her mother claims that he is?

Winnie's mother made all the preparations to prevent Winnie from being taken on her 18th birthday like her mother herself was taken but it was useless, as Pan took her anyway late one night. Now, Winnie is left wondering how she can help someone so much more powerful than she is.

Peter Pan: "Don't get cocky."
Winnie: "No, I'm just getting cock."

I can understand why so many people say that this book is all smut and no plot. I'll definitely agree with that sentiment. However, I don't think there's as much smut as people are talking about. They only fuck, like, twice, MAYBE.

I was almost disappointed with that when all's said and done, honestly. I mean, yeah, the guys talk about how hard their cocks are quite a bit, I'll admit to that, but come on! I wanted more sex scenes if it's going to be all smut and no plot. lmao

I did enjoy what plot we got, though, because it didn't feel rushed. I mean, yeah, the book is short - less than 200 pages if you go through your Kindle - but it didn't feel rushed like shorter books in this page range normally feel to me.

I think there could have been more plot, yes, I'll agree with that sentiment as well. I feel like we could have also gotten more lore building and the like as well. I wanted to hear more about the twins' home and more about the magic that Peter Pan has lost.

I wanted to hear more about Vane's backstory as well so I'm looking forward to going through the entire series just for that reason alone. I want to have more instead of stopping at the first book like last year. lol

If you want more smut and talk about fucking, then this book is for you. If you want a more plot-driven story, then I would recommend avoiding this series. I normally don't word my recommendations like this but here we are. I wanted to give y'all a fair warning. lol
