I enjoyed this novel. I has no idea it was her debt novel. I read The Winter People and loved it. This book was also a great read. I enjoyed the mix of supernatural with real life horror. Definitely will be reading more of her work!
I liked this book. I didn't love it, especially having read other Jennifer McMahon books, but it was good. I loved the character Del, and I certainly would say she was my favorite part of the book. The other characters were a bit flat for me. The main character, Kate, was not someone I could relate to easily- she was easily the most boring character too. I wish the story had been told from someone else's perspective. I love the way McMahon writes- the story pacing and structure was good and the plot was intriguing and she sure knows how to make things mysterious/curious. I just wasn't hugely into the characters except for little Del Griswold. I do like the way McMahon uses flashback/past versus present storytelling devices. This is a good, short read, but not my favorite from McMahon. I would recommend it though, because Del Griswold would definitely be on my list of favorite book characters.
Another one I just couldn't get through. It was so boring.
*audio
Weird one. Don't know that audio works well for this book.

This was a good story. I had trouble putting it down and finished it in just over a day. It also spooked me, and I'm not easily spooked by books. I'm only giving it 3 stars because, towards the end, I felt like the author just wanted to rush through and tell us who did it.
When I started reading this book, I didn't think I would enjoy it, but I really did. I was thoughtful, spooky, and all-around well-written. I couldn't put it down!
Part ghost story, part murder mystery, part self-discovery. Each character has their own story, and they all weave together beautifully.
It is now making its way around my circle of bookworm friends. :-)

This was one of those fantastic books that just pull you in from the start and don't let go until the very last page. Jennifer McMahon is such a talent, and I cant wait to read more of her books!
