The thing I love about Jennifer McMahon's books is that they scare the crap out of me. LOL. I'm not really a person who likes scary things. I skip the scary and gruesome movies, avoid horror books and generally stay away from anything that is going to keep me up at night. I like Jennifer's books because they scare me just enough that I'm freaked out a bit, but not so much that I can't fall asleep.

This is the second book of this author's I've read. I really enjoy her writing and I'll probably pick up the rest of her books. While the storyline in this one could be called generic and overdone, I think that Jennifer writes it in a way that makes it new and fresh. Her attention to detail and her knack for throwing in little twists here and there really can keep you guessing until the end.

What I particularly enjoyed about this book was that I thought I had it figured out about halfway through...but then I didn't. And then I thought I did again a few chapters later....but I didn't. It actually turned out that I did have it figured out, but there were enough little dead end clues to keep me second guessing myself. It was very entertaining.

I never really cared about the characters and a lot of the plot seemed contrived. I was expecting better.

Very good book!

his book was in a word . . haunting. It was a whodunnit, but it was unlike anything I had ever read before. I never thought a book could give me the chills. I loved it.

This was a good book, even though it wasn't quite as intense as the other I read, Dismantled. McMahon is a really good writer though and I plan on reading Island of Lost Girls, as well as anything else she comes out with. To me this book was about forgiving yourself for past mistakes. Since Kate lives with her 10 year old mistake eating at her, believing that all the clues around her point to Del coming back for revenge. But I don't really blame her for that! :) Anyway I thought the book was good. I wonder if her and Nicky got together...hmmmm.

Meh. This was unlikeable, like all the characters in it. I really felt nothing for anyone and wasn’t invested in the story. I thought the fact that the MC was a suspect at all, was insane. Pretty contrived. Had no depth to it. And it was just kind of gross.
