we got drunk in Vegas and ended up married whoops now we can't tell anyone trope for your AU needs.
while book 1 didn't manage to hold my interest, I couldn't put down this one. Cara is such a strong woman; dealing with her Italian family who didn't think she was Italian enough, and other people's perceptions about her, all the while battling her insecurities and recovering from her eating disorder, I feel for her. I love her chemistry with Shane and how Shane is able to somehow calm her down, help her breathe, help her live.
I rooted for them til the end. now on to Tad and Jules!

Emotional und humorvoll
Der zweite Band um die Love Recipes von Kate Meader kommt wieder mit einer verführerischen Geschichte daher. Hier hat sich die Autorin zum ersten Band der Reihen noch einmal deutlich gesteigert. Das Buch ist ein zweiter Band, kann jedoch auch gut ohne Vorwissen gelesen werden, da es sich um angeschlossene Geschichten handelt.
Cara und Shane, die sich nach einer spontanen Hochzeit in Las Vegas so gar nicht einig sind, ob das nun etwas Gutes oder ganz Schlechtes ist, sind einfach herrlich unterhaltsam. Ist die Geschichte zu Anfang vor allem lustig, sexy und unterhaltsam, werden nach und nach tolle Hintergrunde beider Charaktere eingebunden, welche das Buch noch einmal eine emotionale Stufe tiefer bringen. Der Perspektivwechsel wischen Cara und Shane bringt dabei eine tolle Dynamik in die Geschichte und bringt dem Leser zudem beide Charaktere näher. Die Geschichte um die beiden stimmt und ist ausgewogen. Beide haben so ihre Eigenheiten, passen aber gut zusammen. Die Gefühle kamen auch gut rüber. Neben der Geschichte um Cara und Shane ist wieder jede Menge los. Ein Baby und eine Hochzeit und generell viel Nebenhandlung, welche auf jeden Fall unterhaltsam war, jedoch hätte etwas mehr Fokus auf Cara und Shane auch gutgetan.
Ein weiterer überzeugender Band, der mit verführerischen Charakteren überzeugt und eine hitzige Kombination bietet. Shane und Cara haben eine gute Chemie zusammen, sind leidenschaftlich und emotional. Das springt auch auf den Leser über. Die Autorin konnte sich vom Auftaktband steigern und so kann man den dritten Band nun auch kaum abwarten.

I loved this book. I didn't get a chance to read book 1 first, but it didn't make the story any less awesome.

Cara DeLuca is the epitome of rigid, she likes control and has a way of scaring those working around her with her need for perfection, she also has a bit of a reputation as a man eater. When Irish pastry chef Shane Doyle is hired to work with her she is not pleased for two reasons. One he is the mistake she in Vegas and two she is attracted to him but would never admit it.
Shane is his own layer of problems with his fathers mistakes still haunting him. He should just walk away from Cara but there is something about her that him pursuing her and he is not sure he wants to let her go.
This had a lot too it because both Cara and Shane have baggage. Cara takes awhile to warm up to as she is pretty cold in demeanor. I think it would have helped to read first book in series, the characters are heavily involved but otherwise a good story.

What do you get when you combine a hot, sexy Irish man with a cold, reserved events planner?
Sparks and tension, that's what!
I really enjoyed this book. It's hot, well paced, and it's got heart to it as well, which I appreciate.
I've read a lot of romance novels over the years, I'll be honest - they're easy, they're sweet and sexy. But not every romance novel does it for me, simply because you can't just throw two characters together, make them lust for each other, have them screw and then kapow, instant successful romance story!
A good romance has more than that. It'll have the tension and the sparks, the heated looks and longing - but it'll also have real tension and show that the characters have real worries and vulnerabilities, things that make them tick. It'll show things that might make one character a bit of an ass, and the other one a bit mean, and that's what makes it all coalesce together.
All Fired Up has all of this. Cara is our reserved heroine, running from a slip of her control, battling her demons and trying to hold temptation at bay. Shane is our sexy cowboy, gorgeous, Irish - and with a history of his own, and a weakness for Cara.
Put it all together and you have a story that was engaging and made me care about the main couple. Learning about Shane and Cara throughout the book, I came to understand and empathise with both of them - at times I wanted to shake them, but I still knew why and how they were making their decisions.
The sex is damn hot, too! (Had to mention that, right?) There are some moments where the dialogue made me roll my eyes, which is why I'm not giving it the full five stars, but it wasn't enough to seriously detract from the story.
Definitely a good read for romance lovers. I should note that this book is the second in a series, but as is so common with romance novels, you don't have to read one to understand the other, as far as I can tell - though I'll be picking up the first to check it out, too!

I received this book in a goodreads giveaway. I love how this book managed to be steamy but sweet at the same time. This is the second book I read from this author and I loved both of them!

I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been feeling restless or not but I had a lot of trouble getting into this book. I did enjoy Cara and Shane’s story and I can’t say I minded how often Jack and Lily showed up but I just never felt fully invested in their story. I’m not even sure I can pinpoint why. Even though this wasn’t my favorite Kate Meader book I’m still really glad I went through and read every book in the series (out of order btw).
I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been feeling restless or not but I had a lot of trouble getting into this book. Nachdem der erste Band der „Love Recipes“-Reihe mich schon mit dem wirklich ausgefallenen Humor und der tollen Lovestory überzeugen konnte, schafft es Band 2 direkt daran anzuknüpfen.
Cara deLuca ist schon aus dem ersten Band als harte Geschäftsfrau aufgefallen und ich muss gestehen, dass ich sie in diesem ersten Band absolut nicht mochte.
Doch in ihrer eigenen Geschichte erfährt man die Hintergründe über ihr Handeln und ihre Person und es macht unglaublich Spaß sich in ihren Charakter hinein zu fühlen.
Cara gibt sich immer so taff und unbesiegbar, doch das ist nur eine Maske, die sie nach außen hin trägt. Eigentlich hat sie mit einigen schwerwiegenden Problemen zu kämpfen und kann sich deshalb nicht einfach gehen lassen.
Doch genau das geschieht in Las Vegas und plötzlich ist sie mit dem Konditor Shane Doyle verheiratet. Dieser ist nicht nur ihr Arbeitskollege, sondern bald auch noch ihr Nachbar und setzt alles daran hinter Caras eiserne Fassade zu gucken.
Ich liebe die Handlung erneut und finde es unglaublich welche ernsten Themen hier einfließen: Magersucht, Vaterkomplexe, Alkoholismus...
Zwar ist der Schreibstil und die Handlung nicht ganz so humorvoll, wie im ersten Band, doch dafür nicht minder gut!
Beide Charaktere haben mit verschiedenen Dämonen zu kämpfen, doch je näher sie sich kommen, desto selbstbewusster werden sie diese auch zu bekämpfen.
Shane hat einige familiäre Probleme, während Cara mit gesundheitlichen zu kämpfen hat.
Auch das Wiedersehen mit den Charakteren aus dem ersten Band und besonders auch dem ganzen DeLuca Clan hat mir wirklich super gefallen. Das herrscht direkt eine familiäre Atmosphäre.
Letztendlich kann ich dieses Buch wieder nur jedem empfehlen, der auf eine tolle Liebesgeschichte mit einer Prise an ernsten Themen aus ist. Mit dem mitreißenden und tollen Schreibstil der Autorin bleibt einem nichts anderes übrig, als sich in die Charaktere zu verlieben und mit ihnen zu fühlen.
Ich kann es deshalb kaum erwarten auch den letzten Teil der Kitchen Love Trilogie zu lesen.
Fazit:
Eine sich entwickelnde, unglaublich liebevolle Liebesgeschichte mit einer Prise Drama und Erotik.
Ernste Hintergründe und doch einfach nur mitreißend und realistisch.

I only realised after I read this, that I was reading out of order of the series. I am not sure if that might have affected the experience, alas I did quite enjoy it.
It's hot and swoony. And throw some foodie bits into it and you got yourself a yummy cute and fluffy that was an enjoyable read.
Lots of drama, quite a bit of fun banter, some good food and a hot hero.
I guess it's a series I shall keep reading.
