infuriating read that lays bare just how many levels of complicity are involved in covering up sexual abuse. it is abundantly clear that powerful men do not care about sexual abuse. they don't think it's a big deal. they get annoyed instead of angry when confronted by it, and they always, always protect each other. almost as infuriating to see how many women signed on to the cover ups. the book meandered a bit for the last quarter, but overall was well-structured.

It was like trying to replicate a movie scene where multiple things and storylines happen with a split screen but without having the necessary storytelling skills. It was messy not comprehensive the built up of tension and drama was done poorly by throwing bits of information at the reader but the information was "the very shady people were doing very shady things". I didn't get far into the book to be fair but I tried it 2 times and it still ended up being my first dnf
