I enjoyed this book, but the accents in the audiobook we're wildly distracting. Who allowed that mess to happen?
What a book! We all know how HW wielded his power in a predatory manner. But I did not know the extensive network of people who were complicit! From people in his own company, to the movie industry to NBC executives trying to squash the story about his behavior. And did I mention the book has spies in it!! Yes, real spies!! Read it. You won’t regret it but your blood pressure might suffer...
I highly recommend the audio version, read by the author.

reading about all the corruption/cover-ups and private espionage was interesting. the last section of this book (about lauer and the nbc cover-up) was kind of a slog. i think it just wasnt written as engagingly as the first 2/3rds or so somehow, and read more like a factual account of events than a narrative. also, there are A LOT of names and organizations to remember. it really makes me appreciate how fiction condenses certain roles into single characters lol, because it is impossible to keep track of the actual number of people involved in something like this. i constantly didnt remember who someone was or what their loyalties were.

Okay in the same way I was obsessed with Bad Blood, I am obsessed with this. Ronan truly makes the most mundane parts of journalism the best reality tv. I loved his voices and impressions and that he seemed to enjoy telling even the worst parts of this story that I thought I knew. The actual case is disgusting. But also a little uplifting? Regardless, I feel like this was important culture for me to know and I was happy to listen. And I’m almost surprised he and Jon lasted as long as they did. I hope everyone feels safe and fulfilled.
