Fearless reporting from a precociously talented journalist that shines a bright spotlight into the darkest recesses of the corridors of power. Clearly deserving of the Pulitzer. However, as someone less familiar with the U.S. media landscape, I struggled to keep up with all the names, job titles and different media organisations mentioned, to the point where it detracted from my understanding (and enjoyment) of the book.

Presumably U.S. readers would have no such issues.

This was a difficult book to read and put down. It reads like a suspense novel but it’s true, it’s all true. The disgusting abuse of women by powerful men was so hard to read and I was left amazed by the courage of the women who came forward, and Farrow for not giving up in getting this story told. A beautifully written and important story everyone should read.

This writing style was way too jumbled and chaotic for my likes. It could've been an engrossing thriller type book but instead was as dry as a technical manual detailng how engines work.

A story that needs to be out there? yes; good investigating and tenacity? yes; a good read? hard no.

This book is an impeccably researched and well told first person account of Ronan Farrow's attempts to uncover stories of misconduct, corruption, and abuse about Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer, The National Enquirer, and NBC News. It works not only as evidence for the importance of journalism in keeping powerful people and institutions accountable, but also as a gripping read that involves spies, lies, and despicable lawyers. The events are astounding, and Farrow tells them in gripping fast-paced detail. The book gave me a deep respect for journalists who try to tell hard stories; bless their work and the freedom of the press.

Absolutely riveting investigative journalism

I haven't written a review in a long time, but I'll make an exception for this one.

Shame on NBC, Hollywood, and a bunch of other enablers who allowed Harvey Weinstein, that sick piece of shit, to systematically abuse and rape multiple women over a number of decades.

Absolutely riveting, spine-chilling account by Pulitzer Prize winner Ronan Farrow and his time investigating Weinstein. Cover ups, catch-and-kill operations by tabloids and news organizations, like NBC and National Enquirer, international PI firms who stalked and spied on victims and journalists pursuing these stories....it's absolutely mind-blowing the lengths powerful men go to in order to uphold the status quo and evade consequences and justice. Equally mind-blowing are the numerous people and organizations that tolerate, support, and reinforce these men.

Ronan Farrow writes in a very matter-of-fact, precise way about his investigation and what he experienced, but what I appreciated most of all is that there is a nucleus of humanity and warmth that pervades his writing. Excellent.

I read this book in two sittings. Unputdownable and rage inducing. Weinstein is a monster and I am incensed at those who enabled him for decades. My heart aches for his many, many victims.
