Stacy Willingham really knows how to write a story that keeps you guessing. After reading 'A Flicker in the Dark' and thoroughly enjoying it - I knew this one was going to be a great read. Lots of twists that I didn't see coming and some that were predictable. Overall excellent plot that keeps you guessing.

The author's note at the end really puts the story in a whole new perspective that I found to be incredibly thought provoking. Definitely recommend giving it a read at the end.

This book was very well written! This is the kind of thriller that sucks you in and keeps a hold of you! With all the drama, the incomplete memories, all the questions, you don’t see the ending coming AT ALL! That’s what I love about a well written thriller! I swear it’s written specifically for true crime consumers, to help people understand what it’s like to be on the other side of the true crime! To be actually along for all of the painful steps along the way! I really do think that’s why I liked this one so much! Because a lot of people do watch true crime, including myself! Although this one isn’t a true crime case, I really enjoyed it a lot! Way better than I liked A Flicker in the Dark! I’m glad I gave this author another chance! This one does have some topics that people may not necessarily want to read about, definitely check the trigger warnings! But if you’re like me and a lot of them don’t trigger anything with you, please read this one! The story, all the twists, and that insane ending are so worth it!

Great use of flipping between dual timelines - the past and the present - to slowly reveal what the protagonist learns throughout the story about her childhood and current situation.

Nice twisty plots in this mystery thriller. Definitely held my interest all the way to the very end.
