If you love books with enemies to lovers vibes that tackle complex sociopolitical issues with grace and ease, pick this up.
It’s the perfect explanation of why stereotypes and assumptions are risky and wrong.
Highly recommended if you love Kennedy Ryan’s Kingmaker series — definitely gives the same vibes.
Sweet and steamy— the intimate scenes were long and detailed without being full of euphemisms or overly descriptive and the emotional maturity and intelligence of both main characters was refreshing and realistic.

Closing out the year with another 5 Star read? Check! Kathryn Nolan’s Riptide is a beautiful story about hotel developer, Avery and laidback, hippy surfer, Finn. It’s a beautiful, slow burn, enemies to lovers story. These two are so feisty together and I love the firey chemistry between them. It was such a totally different story to Cuffed and shows Kathryn’s range and talent. I can’t wait to read another of her books. Well done, Ms. Nolan.

Kathryn Nolan gets me every time with her characters who are so alive they seem to jump from the page. Avery is a 'money-grubbing capitalist' with a own complicated past, and Finn is a 'dirty hippie surfer', and the flash and clash of their conflict drives this story along. By the time they reach their happily ever after they have both learned something and changed in ways as powerful as a shore shaped by an ocean tide.

I loved this book so much! It was just what I needed. The story is challenging, sexy, it makes you think. I would’ve loved it if the choices Avery had to make played out a little more on the page, but honestly that’s a minor detail compared to how much I loved it.

Great beach read
A fun, easy read that is perfect for the beach! Nolan did an awesome job of keeping the characters true to themselves through the story. The tension was palpable through the pages, all the way to the HEA!

Kathryn Nolan’s debut novel is an enjoyable enemies to lovers story with smart banter, hot encounters, and an interesting look at development and the environment. A lot of fun to read.
